NFL Player and Model Say ‘I Do’ in Lavish $5 Million Wedding at French-Style Chateau Gardens on Long Island

Evan Engram, a star tight end in the NFL, and Emily Caro, a stunning model, recently celebrated their fairytale wedding at the picturesque Oheka Castle on Long Island. Their love story, which began with a chance encounter in Los Angeles in 2019, reached its culmination in a breathtaking ceremony that felt straight out of a romantic movie.

Emily recalls their first meeting at a Los Angeles restaurant during a girl’s night out. “We ended up exchanging social media handles and just watched each other’s lives as friends through pictures and story posts,” she shared. Two years later, fate brought them back together in New York, where Evan was playing for the New York Giants, and Emily had moved to pursue her modeling career. Their first “date,” initially set up as a double date with a friend, turned into a revelation of feelings that had been brewing for years. “There was a mix-up in communications and he thought the double date was for us,” Emily said. “When he confessed his feelings, it was as if the sky parted for me and a beam of light shined on him. I realized he was the one this whole time.”

Their engagement took place during a romantic trip to Turks and Caicos in July 2021. Evan, typically laid-back, meticulously planned a special evening. “The first night, he required us to have a romantic dinner on the beach. Once we got ready, Evan led me down to the beach away from the resort at sunset. There was a blanket with orchids, my favorite flowers, in the sand. The song ‘Best Part’ by Daniel Caesar was playing on our portable speaker. He took a pause with me to take a deep breath and then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!”

The couple’s wedding at Oheka Castle was a blend of elegance and intimacy, reflecting their journey together. “We chose to marry in New York since that is where our love story started,” Emily explained. “New York was where we shared our first home together and many firsts in our relationship.” The grounds of Oheka Castle, reminiscent of a French chateau, provided a romantic backdrop for their spring wedding on April 12. Despite a forecast threatening rain, the skies cleared just in time, allowing the couple to exchange vows outdoors surrounded by lush greenery and white florals.

Emily’s bridal gown was a custom creation from Enaura, a unique blend of two designs featuring a body-hugging gown with an overskirt of soft tulle ruffles. Instead of carrying a traditional bouquet, Emily opted for a rosary passed down from her grandmother, a touching tribute to her family’s heritage. “I knew I wanted to honor her tradition but also surprise her by carrying it on my wedding day,” she said. The groom, meanwhile, channeled a modern James Bond, donning a bespoke suit by Arminius, featuring sleek lines and a unique texture.

The day was filled with emotions and memorable moments. The couple chose a “first touch” rather than a “first look,” preserving the surprise of seeing each other until Emily walked down the aisle. “It wasn’t until I was outside and locked eyes with Evan that I couldn’t help but smile,” Emily recalled. Evan, too, was moved to tears when he saw his bride approaching. “He was so flooded with emotions during the day and into the ceremony,” Emily noted.

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued indoors with a lavish reception featuring white floral installations and elegant decor. The newlyweds, known for their love of a good party, danced the night away with their closest friends and family. “To know Evan and I is to know we love a good party,” Emily laughed.

As they embark on this new chapter together, Evan and Emily are still basking in the joy of their wedding day. “Newlywed bliss is definitely a real thing,” they shared. “We find it so weird to say husband and wife now after having said fiancé for two years! But it’s the most wonderful change we have ever had.”

Their wedding, filled with love, laughter, and a few unexpected moments, was a beautiful beginning to their happily ever after.
